Settings are divided into "Settings" for the "Auchan Fotolumea mea" software and "My account" for the user.
Basic settings for the Auchan Fotolumea mea software. If you are not an experienced computer user and everything is working the way it should, it is a good idea to leave the settings as they are. Some settings are only available if specific products are offered. If one of the settings described here is not listed in your software, the corresponding photo product is therefore not available. The left side of the option window is subdivided into various sections.
User interface: You can set the background of the work space in 5 different shades of grey. Instructions: Small or large buttons in the Editor.
When the program starts, small hints can be shown that draw attention to certain features or products. This can be a help for beginners in the "Auchan Fotolumea mea" software. Here you can enable or disable this feature.
Specifies whether to launch the "CEWE PHOTOBOOK Assistant" when creating a CEWE PHOTOBOOK. If you prefer to always create your CEWE PHOTOBOOKS manually, you can permanently disable this feature here.
To enable and disable the start page for the calendar design selection.
Here you can define the so-called home directory, a directory where the file browser should start looking for photos. The default setting here is your "My images" folder (the path name may look slightly different). Click on the "Browse" button to open a directory map, where you can select a different directory.
Define what cloud services you are shown in the photo Explorer where you have stored online photo collections.
"Show file names" - Here you can set the option if the photos are displayed with their file names in Photo Explorer. The file name display is disabled by default. .
Set which position in which the Storyboard window is displayed. "Automatic" puts the storyboard in the position that provides you with the greatest possible space for your work area in the Editor.
To set the position of an inserted image if it is too close to the edge. Usually images near the edge snap to the margin, or even slightly over it. This is used to prevent "white space" when cutting the pages during production.
|
"White space" is a narrow gap between a photo / clipart and the edge of the page in the colour of the background and generally don't look good. It's better, therefore, to keep a larger distance to the margin or position the images automatically. |
To set the behaviour of an inserted text box if it is too close to the edge.
To set the position of maps if they are too close to the margin.
To set the position of clipart when the page gets a different page layout.
To set the position of generated maps when the page gets a different page layout.
When you have too many objects in your photo book, so-called "tool tips" appear when you hold your mouse over them, e.g. the file path for a photo or editing suggestions. These tool tips can be enabled and disabled here.
If this option is enabled, a special tool tip displaying position and size information of a selected placeholder appears when moving or resizing a photo.
If this option is enabled, a tip box appears when previewing the object in the selection area showing a number with which the object can be clearly identified. This can be helpful when troubleshooting.
When changing to a different side of your photo product, the choice of site layouts only shows the layout that corresponds to the current number of photos or photo placeholders on the relevant page. Here, you can define whether to retain the current layout selection.
If this checkbox is active, then you will be warned when you delete a QR code that the corresponding video will not be uploaded.
The text on the back of the book automatically enlarges when being edited.
Here you can enable and disable the display of the auxiliary grid.
To set the distance of the grid lines.
To adjust the visibility of the grid lines.
Enable or disable the "Snap" function. If this is enabled, then when an object is dragged or scaled, it snaps vertically and horizontally in line with other objects. When the auxiliary grid is enabled, the object then also snaps to these intersections.
Use the slider to set how close an object has to come when you move to the edges of the other objects so that it clicks into place.
The "Spell check while writing text" option turns automatic spell checking on or off. You can also use a different dictionary for spell checking, such as a pre-existing one or one for another language. Many word processing programs (such as "Microsoft Word", "Open Office") already have a dictionary installed. And if you have added plenty of unknown terms to this dictionary, it will be updated for you and you can also use it in the Auchan Fotolumea mea software. Dictionary files have the file suffix ". Dic".
Here you can set up "Red-eye correction", i.e. how photos taken with a flash are treated. Settings for automatic "Red-eye correction". Settings: ask for each image whether red-eye correction should be automatically used or never. (The EXIF data for an image typically indicates whether the photo was taken with flash; EXIF data is the data stored in the image file itself.)
You can enable or disable "Automatic Image Optimisation" here. Especially for images that have been processed by an image editing program (read from the metadata of the photo), you can set whether this prompt will appear for each image, no image or all images.
This enables or disables the function of performing "red-eye correction" again in the laboratory.
These determine how the photo placeholder functions for various photo products if the aspect ratios of photo place holder and an inserted photo do not match. You can set how it functions for multiple products separately.
Sets the image in the centre of the photo placeholder, without changing the aspect ratio of the frame (see picture below in the middle). Any parts of the image that jut out beyond the frame are no longer visible. You can move the photo inside the photo placeholder to bring important image content into the visible area. (Or to remove unwanted content out of the visible area.)
Adjusts the photo placeholder to the aspect ratios of the photo (see below right). The longest side of the photo is scaled optimally into the frame. This can have a significant impact on the page layout, e.g. if you insert a portrait image into a landscape photo placeholder, the inserted image is always shown in full, even if you scale the frame.
Examples:
|
Blank photo placeholder
|
Keep frame size
The original photo is cropped by the photo placeholder |
Change photo placeholder
The photo place holder assumes the aspect ratio of the original image |
This option uses automatic face recognition. If this function detects a face or several faces in the photo, it will attempt to move the photo within the photo placeholder so that all faces remain as fully visible as possible. This option is only used for the "Maintain frame size, crop and centre the photo" command.
If a photo contains geo-data, you will automatically be offered an appropriate map for the geo-data.
For 3D/stereo photos in JPS format (JPEG Stereo), there is no standard as to which photo is responsible for which eye. Therefore there is a dialogue where, using appropriate goggles, you can check the depth and adjust the assignment.
Enables or disables the general application of coloured borders around the images and sets the thickness and colour of the border. To change the colour, click on the colour field. A new window will appear with a palette containing the basic colours on the left-hand side, from which you can choose a colour. Below the standard colours there is a button: "Choose colour on screen." This corresponds to the "pipette" in other image editing programs. Using the crosshair cursor, choose the colour of any pixel on your screen, or of any photo shown. On the right is the colour spectrum which you can use to adjust or mix any new colour of your choice. Simply click on the desired place in the spectrum. Alternatively, you can also enter the numerical value underneath the spectrum. If you want to use the same colour several times, please save it as a user-defined colour. To do this, click on an empty or unused colour field in "User-defined colours" and click on the button "Add to user-defined colours." It will be added to the highlighted colour field. Then click on "OK" in the bottom right. This adds the colour.
To display your pictures with a shadow, turn on this option. The shadow distance determines how far the shadow is to be offset from the image. The intensity is the opacity of the shadow. You can set whether it should be brighter or darker. Using a control dial that you can control with the mouse, specify the direction of the shadow. The blur softens the shadow (at 0 pixels, the shadow has a hard edge).
The overlay determines the size of the shadow. At 0 mm, the shadow is the same size as the shadow-casting photo. The effects of the shadow attributes are displayed graphically in the preview.

This is a global setting for all newly-added photos |
This is where you set the working directory in which the program caches the data it needs for the current project. Click the "Browse" button to open a directory browser where you can select another directory.
Many cameras and image editing programs store small thumbnails in the digital photo’s Exif data. This option tells the Photo Software to use the preview data from the photograph’s Exif data rather than calculating its own thumbnail. This makes the image display slightly faster, but the quality of the Exif thumbnails may result in a slightly poorer preview.
By setting the "size of the cache for Photos", you can influence the processing speed of the "Auchan Fotolumea mea" software. The cache is the amount of RAM that a program reserves from the computer's memory. The larger the cache, the faster the program since it can hold more data (photos) in its memory and it does not have to reload from the slower hard disk. However, this means that other programs running at the same time may be affected and will run more slowly.
Export deleted files from the hard disk.
The program’s Internet access is configured here. You can ignore this item if you only want to order by CD.
A proxy is an intermediary between different networks. Select "Do not use a proxy" if you do not need a proxy for this program. If your computer has a reliable Internet connection, the "Use system proxy" setting is perfectly sufficient. This uses your computer’s existing settings for the Internet connection. Use the setting "Use own proxy" if you work on a large network and use different proxies, or if you have a firewall. Ask your system administrator for the correct settings.
A number of connection attempts are started with the "Start" button. If there are any problems, you can see the results in "Details". For support requests, these details can be saved in a file.
Information on this program, e.g.: version number, creation date, program name, and various copyright details.
The customer service contact information, such as a contact email address and telephone number. You can also set up how a debug output is generated and stored in case of issues. If there are problems with the software, we can determine with this debug output when and in which program module an error is occurring. We do our best to correct a detected fault in the next program update.
